The cornerstone of the package is a practical WORKBOOK with more than 25 chapters, each offering insights, tools and techniques that are helpful to just about any school official who interacts with parents, as well as the parents themselves. (Obvious situations that benefit from these ideas and tools are IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff meetings/trainings.)

It’s easy to read, user-friendly, and even offers ways to practice useful collaboration skills. (The workbook will also be available soon in Spanish.)

Virtual Office Hours

Live monthly VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS are open to readers who would like to “drop by” and share or inquire about anything related to the book. It also serves as a “safe place” to practice or to “workshop” tools and exercises found in the workbook. Plus it’s a golden opportunity to learn from each other.

All members of the school-parent team are welcome to join either session for all or part(s) of those hours.

2023-24 School Year slots are set for the fourth Tuesday of every month except December.  Two one-hour blocks (1-2pm & 6-7pm) Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 28, Jan. 23. Feb. 27, March 26, April 23, May 28, and June 25.

Podcast

Six 30-minute audio PODCASTS, each dedicated to expanding on key chapters/skills in the book, are a bonus feature. These are casual conversations and interviews with top professionals who use those communication skills and strategies on a daily basis. The podcasts provide added dimensions and memorable illustrations to the topics.

The package is not sold to individuals; only to educational organizations which, in turn, distribute it to individual staff members and parents they encompass. It is sold directly to schools, school districts, county education divisions, etc., as well as to parent resource centers.
